In Moullinex's new release entitled "Fauna", it's as if sounds from a dinosaur-age jungle were fast forwarded into one hundred years from now and landed in the middle of a floating dance club on Mars. Dig it.
And a note from the owner of InGen himself:
...suited for the dancefloor. Hope you dig them, and if you do, play them out, they're made for that!
Toro y Moi is back with a new album, Anything In Return, and knocked one into the bleachers with it. In the past three years this Chaz kid has gone from studying graphic design at U of South Carolina to a '12 Lollapalooza showcase. Preparations now commence for a '13 world-wide album tour.
Anything in Return overflows with addictive beats and hooks, from the uptempo "Say That" to the overly emotive "Cake", you'll find yourself hard-pressed to ever hit the next button. In a new twist for Toro y Moi, these tracks are littered with "you, I, me, her, she, we, me" lyrics as Chaz lyrically opens up with a soft relationship side. The album nonetheless has been spinning nonstop at the troysnoise studio and has shown no signs of slowing down.
Conversational. Elemental. Earthy. With album covers featuring nostalgic family photos, tracks featuring subtle infantile vocals and sounds of a serene, open landscape, Blithe Field, aka Spencer Radcliffe, takes his indietronic influences from his surroundings in small town Athens, Ohio.
During these cold, short winter days, it behooves you to pull up next to the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa and listen to this album.
One of our favorites, STRFKR, is back with a highly anticipated new album, Miracle Mile, to be released 2/19/2013. Fortunately for those of us who are the type to celebrate new years beginning with the natives of Kiritimati (Australian Territory), GMT +14, the band has given us a sneak peak as well as some words of wisdom:
This folk pop makes eight and a half minutes feel like eight and a half seconds. William Tyler and this "Cadillac Desert" release is the first off of the upcoming Impossible Truth and is an aphotic yet emotive and uplifting sound with just the right touch of country twang all the same.
It's becoming more and more challenging these days to be the first one to unearth an emerging musician, which makes the occasions when it does happen even more splendid. Else delivers today's magnificence and is delivered by an electronic music label out of Toulouse, France called L'ordre.
If this teaser video and three tracks don't get you amped, check your pulse.
Silky seems like the best word to describe Toro's latest release. The track itself was unveiled a few months ago and the video arrived on Wednesday. Peep the Toro website to stay tuned for another video that will unlock when this one gets enough views - tasty marketing strat.
As a follow up to our original The Flower Lane post, Ducktails returns with the second single off the impending album. According to wiki, letters of intent resemble written contracts, but are usually not binding on the parties in their entirety.
The female voice you'll hear is of Jessa Farkas and that familiar synths are complements of Daniel Lopatin, the same dude from tnoise favorite Ford & Lopatin.
Inspired by the Herman Wouk novel of the same name, Youngblood Hawke was born out of late night creative musings between longtime friends Sam Martin and Simon Katz.
"It's Not Over" is the lastest single from Future Classic's newest signing, Panama. It was recorded in LA with super producer, Eric Broucek of DFA Records fame (Holy Ghost, LCD Soundsystem).
Steeped in splashes of yacht rock, hopeful house music and an avid appreciation for the ʻ80s, Panama make music that is as brimming with a quiet, golden nostalgia as it is bright and anthemic in its delivery.
The "It's Not Over"vid, cast and shot in Berlin, debuted on October 4. Crack a tinnie and enjoy.
Formed just a few months ago, these Swedish rockers consist of producer team Astma & Rocwell and singer/songwriter Stina Wäppling. "Like The Wind" is their first release and are now in the studio brewing the next infectious crowing chorus. "Melancholy yet hopeful with a bassy beat oriented foundation."
"Less than a year after releasing his experimental foray into prog-rock, Six Cups of Rebel, Norwegian producer Hans-Peter Lindstrøm is back with a new album... Sleek and bombastic, the record’s six tracks pulse with enough 4/4 to convince his nine-year-old son that disco is better."
Makes me want to buy a ferrari testarossa and drive.
